You will only feel pain if the brain thinks that the stimuli is threatening or it is a danger to the body. And this is what I tried to convey in my pain article. Check it out if you havent read it. But most people can’t fathom this concept.

Last October, yoga teacher Lisa Rueff headed to Haiti to help out after the earthquake.  “Haiti has truly captivated my heart, she told Buzz. “The Haitian people exemplify gratitude, strength, and perseverance.  Amidst so much heartache, the Haitians choose to celebrate life, hope, and love as they continue to sing, dance, pray, and embody faith.” Inspired by her visit, Lisa and her global volunteer organization YogaVentures are heading back from June 20-16th to help build the Jacmel Children’s Center, a collaboration between Haitian community leaders and Americans like Rueff. Our goals, wants, desires and needs shouldnt revolve around things. Things are fleeting. As is the happiness they give us. But things are a part of our lives, and sometimes they do make it more enjoyable, even if only for a moment.

I also believe that people who look for and enjoy quality in their lives whether that be in their own careers, relationships, in their giving, and even possessions work harder, and find that quality when others might not care to do the same.

White House Easter Yoga

Let’s roll some eggs and do some yoga!” exclaimed First Lady Michelle Obama, from the White House balcony on Monday morning. The theme for this year’s annual White House Easter Egg Roll was “Get Up and Go!” a reflection of the First Lady’s nationwide campaign against childhood obesity through exercise and healthy eating.

 

So get up and go they did. Yoga instructors from around the country led children through modified poses like Peaceful Warrior, Cow, and Butterfly.
