Medical negligence paralized my Grandfather

Medical negligence is something that is very unfortunate and is happening to a surprisingly large amount of people. It can happen as easy as someone forgetting to give you a dose of your medicine. Simple things like that can have dramatic results in the field of medicine.

I have personally experienced medical negligence in my family and with my friends. Around 10 years ago, my grandfather was having surgery on his back to correct some damaged vertebrae. The doctor was well known and was supposedly a great doctor.

Halfway through the surgery we get notified that my grandfather is not reacting physically to any of the medical staff testing like he should be. We come to find out that the doctor operated on the wrong part of his vertebrae and damaged thousands of nerves running down his spinal cord. He became paralyzed instantly, not being able to feel anything from the neck down.

The doctor showed large medical negligence just by not reading the surgery procedure and patient data correctly and thoroughly.

Because of this my grandfather was paralyzed the rest of his life before he passed away last year. Doctors and nurses cannot afford to be careless in their jobs and if they decide to be, they need to pay the price for their actions.
